Brake services 101
Your brakes work like a trio: you (the operator), hydraulic pressure, and friction. No matter your car or truck, all brake systems use and create friction to slow you down.
Signs you need brake services
Like a pair of favorite shoes, brakes wear down over time. Regular fluid flushes and periodic brake services are essential to avoiding a full brake replacement. Aside from a warning light turning on, here are some tell-tale signs you may need a brake repair:
- Vibration or shaking when you brake
- Grinding or high-pitch squealing noises
- A low or fading brake pedal
- Your car pulls to one side when you brake
- Leaking brake fluid (yellow or honey-colored)

What to expect while we inspect your brake system
During each of our brake services, our Roadworthy® technicians test drive your car, check the brake fluid, and flush the system of any contaminants if needed. We’ll also check for any signs a brake replacement or repair is in order. Signs like:
- Issues in the brake lines and hoses
- Mysterious leaks
- Emergency brake performance
- Brake pad issues
Avoiding brake repairs
Regular brake inspection is the best way to prevent unwanted squeals and dangerous driving. Though it depends on driving habits, terrain, and parts quality, brake pads generally last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles (we know, that's a big a range).
- Consult your owner's manual for a more accurate mileage range
- Make a note on your calendar
- Come in earlier if you experience any of the signs and symptoms above
